CARAVAN PALACE INTERVIEW BY DJ TYPOBOY
Caravan palace are preparing for their French tour to celebrate the release of their second album "Panic". So to join in the celebrations Typoboy went to meet them in their rehearsal studio. Antoine (trombonist) and Arnaud (guitarist) have taken part in the interview whilst their fabulous singer Sonia aka "Colotis Zoe" lent an attentive ear.
Typoboy: Briefly, what kind of route have the members taken getting into music?
Antoine: We have almost all been through musical academies.
Arnaud: Not me! I started playing guitar by listening to nirvana!
Typoboy: In the studio and before going into the recording studio, how do you divide up tasks?
Antoine: Before the studio we play a kind of ping pong over the internet, the four members each have own rudimentary musical workstation (a computer with a pair of speakers). Whenever we have an idea we bounce it over to the others.
Arnaud: If we have a response in ten minutes, we run with it! If there is still no response after two hours, well then… there is a reason why we must try something else! (laughter). When the three other members of the group agree on an idea we get into the home studio and see if we can make up an arrangement!
